PERFORMANCE field cultivator
The PERFORMANCE cultivator allows for carrying out a wide variety of operations while maintaining and nourishing healthy soil.
This can be done regardless of whether you are doing shallow stubble ploughing or basic tillage at a depth of 38 cm.
The spacious frame structure allows for the mixing in of large amounts of stalk residue.
The Performance is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a field cultivator with a durable design and excellent working quality.

Key features
Structure designed for high throughput capacity
The gates of the Performance are arranged in three rows in a 27 cm pitch.
This, combined with the 85 cm beam height and 70 cm spacing, guarantees trouble-free handling of large amounts of stalk residue, even in unshredded maize stubble or when working an unshredded green manure crop.
The hoe spacing and high belly height allow for unobstructed and even handling of large amounts of stalk residue.
Versatile tillers - for deep and shallow tillage
Depending on the working depth, there is a wide range of hoes to choose from.
For shallower cultivation we recommend the 80 mm tines with low turning plate and wings, this ensures that the soil is worked over the entire surface and that all weed roots are cut off, so this can be a very good alternative for ploughing instead of the „V” discs.
For medium-deep cultivation between 20 and 30 cm, we also recommend 80 mm tines with a high turning plate, which gives optimum mixing effect.
For cultivation below 30 cm, we recommend the 40 mm hoes with tungsten carbide plates. This will result in significant fuel savings and makes it noticeably easier to tow the implement.
The hoes are effective in loosening the soil – they can even be used to remove plow-sole – but as they are only 40 mm wide and have a straight profile, their mixing effect is not as significant as that of their 80 mm wide counterparts.
Shear bolt or double spring blade safety
The shear pin overload protection hoes offer an ideal and affordable alternative for both rock-free, light and hard ground. Their low weight makes them ideal for use with tractors that have low traction power.
The shear pin safety has a release force of over 1,000 kg.
The double spring hoes, combined with overload protection, provide an excellent landscape for work, even when working at depths below the surface soil.
The compression spring of the NorAn Performance hoe’s overload protection system has a release force of over 600 kg and a lifting height of 25 cm.
This solution is recommended primarily for rocky soils, where the frequent replacement of shear bolts would significantly reduce the area performance of the machine.
Levelling unit in front of the cylinder
The disc levellers are located in front of the roller and create an even soil surface prior to sealing.
They are equipped with a rubber spring safety system to guard against stones.
The large – 410 mm diameter – side discs return soil that has been thrown far out in front of the roller to ensure a smooth transition.
The working width of these discs can be easily adjusted by moving a single pin.
The working depth of the levelling unit can be easily adjusted steplessly – without tools – using two spindles, and the current depth can be read off the scale.
The spindles are positioned on either side of the machine, so there is no need to climb into the machine to make adjustments.
Comfort setting
The Performance can be used in a variety of operations from shallow ploughing, to 40 cm deep base cultivation, to seedbed preparation. On all suspended models, the working depth can be hydraulically adjusted from the tractor seat by means of one work roller per side, and the current depth can be easily read off the scale. The load on work rollers is removed by aluminium clips.
The levelling disc row is fixed on the roller frame so that it only needs to be set right once, as the roller height changes automatically when the working depth is adjusted.
Thanks to this, Performance guarantees quality work on variable soil types.
Effective mud scrapers in all conditions
The Performance mud scrapers are designed to keep sealing rollers clean in the harshest conditions.
A cleaning blade is located between each roller ring, the height of which can be easily adjusted in relation to the surface by means of screw shafts.
Thanks to the favourable design of the cleaning blades, no stalk residue or wet soil can rise from the ground, so our roller can do a perfect job in all conditions.
Full depth compression
It is essential to level and re-seal the soil disturbed by the cultivator is essential to achieve excellent work quality.
The type of cylinder should always be chosen carefully to maximise performance.
The roller row, which acts as a sealing unit for the cultivator, provides a deep compaction effect.
It removes excess air from the soil and restores the capillary system.
This makes soil moisture available to growing plants, which increases their potential harvest.
A choice of wedge ring and U-profile closing cylinders is available for Performance cultivators.
The wedge ring version provides excellent lump shredding and re-compaction in all conditions, while levelling the surface and helping to retain soil moisture.
A U-profile roller is characterized by the fact that during the roller’s operation, soil comes into contact with soil, leaving a cultivated yet open surface.
This roller has less clogging ability, and its real benefits shine in muddy conditions.
Cultivator = Step 1 of abandoning ploughing
The change from soil tillage using a plough is a priority for the future of agriculture.
In addition to the loosening of the soil, the cultivation process also involves working stalk residues into the soil.
With the PERFORMANCE field cultivator you can perform more than one operations at the same time.
Whereas ploughing leaves an open, uneven, cloddy surface, the Performace cultivator’s disc row levels the cultivated soil and the wedge ring roller breaks up the clods, leaving an evenly sealed surface that can be sowed immediately without the need for another operation.
This saves a significant amount of working hours and gas oil, while at the same time our soil life and soil water retention capacity will gradually improve as a result of land cultivation without tillage.

It is equipped with H.orsch grab handles, so all H.orsch wear tips fit on the machine and ensure top-quality work.
NorAn’s engineers aimed for the highest possible strength, so they chose 100x100x8 mm S355 material grade for both the main frame and the roller frame.
The plates that make up the machine were also chosen for their large cross-section – typically lv15mm and lv12mm – and are also S355 MC material grade.
These ensure the long life of NorAn Performance.
Naturally. With a frame height of 85 cm, a 3-beam design and a 70 cm beam spacing, the NorAn Performance cultivator has a huge flow-through cross-section, so unbroken maize stubble is no problem, but it can even handle a green manure crop of 80-90 cm.
It performs significantly better than conventional „V” discs, thanks to the favourable hoe geometry and the wedge ring roller, which also performs optimum compaction immediately after tilling.
Based on user experience, we have received feedback that the NorAn Performance mulch cultivator leaves behind almost seedbed quality soil, even on the first pass!
The sophisticated design ensures a jam-proof performance even in the harshest conditions, thanks to the NorAn Performance wedge ring roller.
Due to the 600 mm diameter cylinder, the four nails per ring welded in a spiral arrangement on the mantle, there are always nails touching the ground and in muddy conditions or very loose sandy soil, they ensure the rotation of the roller.
The roller features a 125 mm ring spacing, and there is a skid plate between each ring, the height of which can be adjusted to ensure that both the stalk residue and the wet soil are kept on the ground, so that the roller has no chance of getting stuck.
