Foundation of NorAn
NorAn Agricultural Machinery Factory was founded by Norbert Sütő at the age of 23, in 2017. After completing a mechanical engineering degree majoring in equipment design, he tried his hand at a job, but after 6 days he decided to put all his eggs in one basket and start a business. It was during his high school years that he first got involved in agriculture by restoring veteran tractors.
During his university years, he tried his hand at farming on the family land, but he didn’t have much success on the 6 golden crowns of „plastering sand”; however, he was not put off by this.
The first product was also born out of the development of his own farm.
It none other than a wedge-ring roller made using an older cultivator as the starting point.
After the first samples were produced, he was already a co-exhibitor at the Agromash Expo, where the feedback showed that the idea was marketable.
He produced the first products himself, then, as orders became more numerous, he needed part-time and then full-time staff.
Based on the experience of the first year, he came to the conclusion that customized wedge ring rollers, while providing a steady income, were a product unique to each customer, and therefore offer limited scope for development.
After much brainstorming, the decision was made to be the first manufacturer in Hungary to launch the first product in the liquid fertilizer injection category, which was totally uncharted territory at that time.
This is how the N+MAX 6+, launched on 23 June 2017, became NorAn’s first ever machine.
Next up came the MXR shredding roller replacement insert, which was immediately followed by the Pro-Cutter suspended shredding roller line, also the first to be manufactured by NorAn in Hungary.
Back then, the “production base” still consisted of the garages in the yard of the family house.
As the demand for machinery increased, the yard became more and more cramped and the activities made more and more noise, which was increasingly difficult for the neighbours to cope with.
So, giving in to increasing pressure from several sides, Norbert purchased an 800 square metre “cooperative granary” in Tiszakécske, which was renovated bit by bit in the quiet periods.
As of 1 January 2020, this site has been the NorAn headquarters, where the production of quality machines could continue under professional conditions.
The main focus has been on manufacturing high-quality, durable, well-designed machines that meet Western standards, ever since the outset.
The energy invested in development has increased year by year, with new machine lines emerging, with priority focus on technologies that are gentle on the soil.
The extreme rise in orders has presented NorAn’s team with a new challenge, and production capacity has had to increase at the same pace.
So, the succession of increasingly modern CNC machines began, such as the fine-jet plasma cutter, edge bender and welding robot.
One of the greatest acknowledgements of Norbert’s many years of persistent work was the „Hungarian Agriculture of the Year 2021 Innovation Award” given to the N-MAX injector at the 2021 Bábolna Farmers’ Days.
This was followed by the N-MAX injector’s gold medal awarded in the Mechanisation category at the 2022 Novi Sad Agricultural Fair.
Of course, the most important thing – what keeps us get up every day and going in the face of adversity – is the plenty of recognition we receive from farmers.
We are constantly focused on the highest expectations of farmers, using state-of-the-art technology in our machines, and our primary goal is to ensure that our high quality tools serve as many farms as possible.
